Medical writing: A career path PharmD students should hear about early
Recently, Med Communications had the opportunity to introduce PharmD students at the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy to medical writing through a one-hour guest lecture. The session kicked off a new Dean Reginald Frye-approved guest lecture series, also supported by Dr. Dawn Havrda, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, highlighting the many career paths available to pharmacists across industry and professional settings.
The lecture was provided by two outstanding leaders from Med Communications: Ann Winter-Vann, PhD (Director of Regulatory Writing) and Liza Rinehart, PharmD (Director of Scientific Communications and Medical/Promotional Review). They shared their career journeys and day-to-day perspectives, bringing the work to life, and then wrapped up with a lively Q&A with students and faculty. The feedback was incredibly positive, and it was energizing to see such strong interest in medical writing as a career option.
